TOPIC: Having A Fellowship With God (Mountain Of Fire And Miracle Ministries Saturday, 1 September 2018)
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Romans 8:35-39
MEMORY VERSE: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28
The MESSAGE:
Fellowship with God implies building a concrete relationship with Him. A lot of benefits are attached to being in a relationship with God by fellowship. Thus, our assurance of God’s love is dependent on our relationship with Him and the knowledge of His faithfulness. He is our Father and we should desire to be close to Him. If God seems to be far away, it is because we have moved away from Him. We must remain in fellowship with God in order to realise His faithfulness to us.
If we are close to God, He will be for us and when God is for us, it does not really matter whoever chooses to be against us. All believers can trust their omnipotent, omniscient, and all-loving God never to forsake them. This is Apostle Paul’s whole argument in Romans 8:31-38. God, who demonstrated His love, knowledge, and power so definitely and tangibly, can also certainly be trusted to keep us victorious and safe from all dangers, both external and internal. Furthermore, He who was willing to give the ultimate ransom of the life of His Son for us: “How shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32). Will He allow anything or anyone to snatch us from His hands (John 10:28,29) after paying so dear a price?
Just as we did not earn salvation, we cannot earn His protection. God’s protection of believers is based on our justification, but we must always remember that grace also causes us to receive a new nature so that we can perform works of righteousness. God imputes righteousness to us despite the fact that we do not have any good works of our own (Romans 4:6; Titus 3:5). He freely gives us the grace we need each time an occasion arises. We do not receive all His grace at once. When He brings us into a situation or permits us to be in one. He gives the necessary grace and gifts to face and overcome it.
Tribulations from outside circumstances such as persecution, famine, nakedness, peril and the sword shall never separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:35). Other known and unknown obstacles such as death, life, angels, principalities, powers, things present, things to come, height, depth or any other creature will never be able to separate us from the love of God which is rooted in Christ Jesus our Lord. We are bonded to God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The bond of the Trinity gives us spiritual strength that enables us to navigate through tough terrains of life. We remain inseparable from the love of God as a threefold cord that cannot be easily broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12).

2. Holy Spirit, empower me to be deeply rooted in the love of Christ, in the name of Jesus.
3. Works of the flesh in my life, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.

4. O Lord, I thank You for Your daily provisions and protection, in the name of Jesus.
5. Great is Your faithfulness unto me, O Lord my God, in the name of Jesus.
6. Father, strengthen me to overcome the pains of the challenges in my life, in the name of Jesus.
7. Powers working against my close relationship with God, scatter and die, in the name of Jesus.
