TOPIC: Boost Your Self Esteem [Open Heaven for Teens 11 March 2021]

MEMORISE: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

READ: 1 Samuel 30:4-6

  1. Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
  2. And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
  3. And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 14-16, Mark 13:14-37

MESSAGE:

Having a good opinion of yourself and your abilities is a trait you must have early in life. Occasionally, everyone has doubts about themselves which may become low self-esteem if not immediately checked. This may leave you feeling insecure and unmotivated. As a growing teenager with a bright future, you must learn to boost your self-esteem by seeing yourself as God sees you. Are you presently going into depression because you’re being bullied or relegated? I encourage you my dear to rise up with the power of the Holy Spirit.

A good way to boost your self-esteem is by self-improvement. You can do this by reading books. Everyone knows I’m a wide reader. I love to develop my mind through reading good books. In my spare time, I watch discovery on animals and new places, watch good films and gather new information to broaden my horizon.

Also, focus on what you can change about yourself. If you have a bad attitude, don’t give excuses for it. Work on your attitude to become better. Surround yourself with people who encourage you and bring out your good potentials.

KEY POINT:

Strive to become better!

HYMN 7: Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose

  1. Christian, seek not yet repose
    Hear thy gracious Savior say;
    Thou art in the midst of foes:
    Watch and pray.
  2. Principalities and power
    Mustering their unseen array
    Wait for the unguarded hours:
    Watch and pray
  3. Gird the heavenly armor on,
    Wear it ever night and day;
    Ambushed lies the evil one:
    Watch and pray.
  4. Hear the victors who o’ercame,
    Still they mark each warrior’s way;
    All with one sweet voice exclaim,
    Watch and pray.
  5. Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
    Him thou loves to obey;
    Hide within thy heart His word:
    Watch and pray.
  6. Watch, as if on that alone
    Hung the issue of the day;
    Pray, that help may be sent down:
    Watch and pray.
