READ: Luke 12:16-23

  1. And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
  2. And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
  3. And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
  4. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
  5. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
  6. So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
  7. And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
  8. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Acts 2:14-47, Nehemiah 4-6

MESSAGE:

To maximize ones life means to make the best use of your life through the effective use of time and resources. As a Christian, you shouldn’t live your life anyhow because you don’t own it; rather, you should maximize it by pleasing God through your daily thoughts, words and actions.

In today’s Bible reading, the rich fool mismanaged his life. He acquired wealth for himself without being rich towards God. He loved life and lived it to the fullest, without giving any consideration to God; no wonder the story didn’t end well.If you do the following, by the time you are aged or leave this world, it would be said that you maximized your life:

  1. Set and achieve your goals.
  2. Be diligent in everything you do.
  3. Improve on yourself daily.
  4. Live in love with everyone.
  5. Have a positive impact on everyone you come in contact with.
  6. Live a healthy life.
  7. Never lose faith in God and yourself.
  8. Be prayerful always.

PRAYER POINT

Father, help me to maximize my time and life, in Jesus name.

HYMN: I Need Thee Every Hour

  1. I need Thee every hour,
    Most gracious Lord;
    No tender voice like Thine
    Can peace afford.

CHORUS
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Ev’ry hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Saviour,
I come to Thee.

  1. I need Thee every hour,
    Stay Thou nearby;
    Temptations lose their power
    When Thou art nigh.
  2. I need Thee every hour,
    In joy or pain;
    Come quickly and abide,
    Or life is vain.
  3. I need Thee every hour,
    Teach me Thy will;
    And Thy rich promises
    In me fulfil.
  4. I need Thee every hour,
    Most Holy one;
    Oh, make me Thine indeed,
    Thou blessed Son!
