MESSAGE:

We live in a society where people are bitter about many things; as if this isn’t bad enough, they are now bitter against God. Young people who are of the school of thought that God controls everything, have issued queries to God on why they are not yet successful or why they are surrounded by unpleasant occurrences.

My child, if for any reason you are angry with God, first, you have to settle it in your heart that there can never be any justifiable grounds for you to pick a fight with Him. You can ask questions to seek clarification on grey areas of life, but to query Him will be a futile effort as no one can sue Him (Psalms 115:3 ).

Also, you need to understand that life is in phases and it cant all be rosy; Jesus already said that in the world we would have tribulations. He comforted us however, by saying we should be of good cheer because He already overcame the world. Therefore, when things are not going smoothly, God may be trying to get your attention. Are you sensitive enough to learn from your experiences? Do you really trust that all things will work together for your good, as a child of God?

ACTION POINT:

Take a moment and reflect on the times you got angry with God. Ask Him to forgive you.

HYMN: ‘Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus

  1. ‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
    Just to take him at his word;
    Just to rest upon His promise,
    Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord.

CHORUS
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust him more!

  1. O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
    Just to trust His cleansing blood;
    Just in simple faith to plunge me
    ’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
  2. Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
    just from sin and self to cease;
    just from Jesus simply taking
    life and rest, and joy and peace.
  3. I’m so glad I learn’d to trust Thee,
    Precious Jesus, Saviour, Friend,
    And I know that Thou art with me,
    Wilt be with me to the end.
