TOPIC: Eat Right [Open Heaven for Teens 7 September 2021]

MEMORISE: Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. 1 Corinthians 6:13

READ: 3 John 1:2
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

MESSAGE:

Your health is important. One of the ways to achieve good health is by eating the right things the right way. Your body is the vehicle through which God reaches the world. If you misuse your body, your mind and spirit cannot become what God planned them to be and you won’t be able to live an abundant life. You must therefore feed your body right in order to be alive to represent God here on earth.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and should not be taken likely. It has a way of getting your body system running properly for the whole day. Many teenagers are lazy about preparing balanced meals; they would rather eat junk (fast food). These junk store up wastes in the body that breaks down its immunity over a period of time. Instead of shopping for packaged and sweetened foods, Ill advise you as a mother particularly if you are in the higher institution: buy food stuff including vegetables and fruits and cook every day at least in the mornings. This arrangement will save you money and also prevent you from spending on hospital bills.

KEY POINT:

When you make food your medicine, medicine will not become your food.

HYMNS: When We Walk With The Lord

  1. When we walk with the Lord
    In the light of His word,
    What a glory He sheds on our way!
    While we do His good will,
    He abides with us still,
    And with all who
    will trust and obey.

CHORUS
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
but to trust and obey.

  1. Not a shadow can rise,
    Not a cloud in the skies,
    But His smile quickly drives it away;
    Not a doubt nor a fear,
    Not a sigh nor a tear,
    Can abide while
    we trust and obey.
  2. Not a burden we bear,
    Not a sorrow we share,
    But our toil He doth richly repay;
    Not a grief nor a loss,
    Not a frown nor a cross,
    But is blest if we trust and
    obey.
  3. But we never can prove
    The delights of His love,
    Until all on the altar we lay,
    For the favour He shows,
    For the joy He bestows,
    Are for them who will trust
    and obey.
  4. Then in fellowship sweet
    We will sit at His feet,
    Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
    What He says we will do,
    Where He sends we will go;
    Never fear, only trust and obey.
