Topic: Be discharged and acquitted! [Thursday 19 November, 2015]

“Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.”-Jeremiah 23:24

Have you ever tried stacking dirty dishes of unequal sizes together? It might stay for a while, but when it gets too clumsy, a little push or the whistle of the wind can make them all crumble, shattering almost everything. The same thing happens when you stack up your sins. They tend to cover up each other for a while, but when it becomes too weighty, just one more “little sin” can bring the greatest fall you never imagined.

Some people, in a bid to cover up a lie, had to tell another lie, which in turn lead to yet another and then an endless circle of lies until they are caught. The shame is always more devastating than the effect it would have had on you if you had said the truth initially. Piling up your sins, at best, only sooth the situation in that moment; but it doesn’t bring a solution to it. At the end, the issue still stares you in the face.

Moreso, you must remember that you cannot hide from God. He is everywhere and so He knew when you did what you did. If you cannot tell anyone, you can be sure to come to God in all sincerity and He would forgive you instantly. There is no use hiding and the stress of covering it up is way too much for you to handle. The truth is: The shame of that sin would only last for a while when you confess instantly, but the guilt you have to carry when unconfessed, would be avoided.

Friend, there is no such peace as having a life free of offences. It’s not that you don’t offend God, but you are quick to confess and set yourself free of the guilt it may carry. Don’t let the devil hold you bound. Come quickly to the Saviour and allow Him to certify you discharged and acquitted. You are too precious to be held bound. Therefore, choose to be free today!

Remain Blessed!
