Topic: Marriage Choices [Tuesday July 14, 2015]

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”Deuteronomy 30:19

How you choose a life partner is greatly reflective of your level of preparedness. You need to look out for more godly qualities and virtues; but if you don’t know what you want, you cannot identify it when you see or mostly importantly, don’t see it. That is why before you get to the stage of choosing a partner, you ought to have established a sound principle for living and set up boundaries for yourself.

You cannot set boundaries if you don’t know and honour God’s Word. Let the Bible be your guide for everything in life. Establish yourself in your values, convictions, perspectives, limits, likes and dislikes, before another person comes into your life. If you are well organised and highly principled, it will be difficult to be swayed, negatively.

In making the choice of a marriage partner, you should pay more attention to spiritual matters, which endure, rather than just mere feelings or looks. Those spiritual virtues are what will save your marriage from crisis in the future. Don’t be deceived, if you are truly born again, you will be firm in making spirituality the core of your choice.

Spirituality means that he or she must have and show evidences of the fruits of the Spirit. Knowing the will of God in marriage is not as difficult as people think. Following His Word is His will and that’s what makes your marriage stand out, no matter the circumstance. You will not fail in this journey in the name of Jesus Christ!

Remain Blessed!
