Memorise: “In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.” – Daniel 9:2

Read: Daniel 9:2-4

  1. In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
  2. And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:
  3. And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;

Bible In One Year: 1 Samuel 25-26, Luke 16:19-31

MESSAGE:

Most teenagers know nothing of what is going on around them. They just feel that news is meant for adults. You are supposed to be the future of your nation, you are supposed to bring change to the world, but how will you do that if you do not even know what is happening? Rather than focusing on entertainment news alone, you should also make sure to stay up to date on current events. Thank God Daniel stayed up to date as seen in our memory verse, if not, Israel would have continued serving a punishment that was already over.

Staying current helps you understand the world around you , which further helps you to understand what it takes to survive and thrive in the real world. Look around you, many young people are doing great things now. They are already involved with making news, and their survival in the world depends on how updated they are with happenings around. Do you want to be the president of your country in the future? You need to understand the policies that presidents are putting out now and their consequences. The news is not boring, it is a tool for greatness.

Prayer Point:

Father, I want to impact my world positively, please teach me to do all it takes to make that happen.

Hymn 11:

  1. Stand up! Stand up for Jesus,
    Ye soldiers of the Cross!
    Lift high His royal banner,
    It must not suffer loss.
    From victory unto victory
    His army shall He lead,
    Till every foe is vanquished,
    And Christ is Lord indeed.
  2. Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
    The solemn watchword hear;
    If while ye sleep he suffers,
    Away with shame and fear.
    Where’re yeah meet with evil,
    Within you or without,
    Charge for the God of battles,
    And put the foe to rout.
  3. Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
    Stand in His strength alone;
    The arm of flesh will fail you,
    Ye dare not trust your own.
    Put on the gospel armour,
    And watching unto prayer;
    Where duty calls, or danger,
    Be never wanting there.
  4. Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
    The strife will not be long;
    This day the noise of battle,
    The next the victor’s song.
    To him that overcometh
    A crown of life shall be;
    He with the King of glory
    Shall reign eternally.
