Open Heavens for Teens

Topic: Costlier Than Diamonds [Teens’ Open Heavens 10, April 2018]

Memorise: What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? – 1 Corinthians 6:19

Read: 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (KJV)

16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Bible In One Year: 1 Samuel 4-6, Luke 12:35-59

MESSAGE:

Diamonds are probably the most expensive materials on earth, whereas water is probably the cheapest material on earth, but diamond has absolutely nothing to do with the human existence. Even though water is far more important than diamond, diamond is far more expensive. The reason is not far-fetched; water is available to you everywhere, but diamonds are rare. The way you dress will determine your value. If you dress cheaply, you will be valued as any riffraff. If you dress as if you are available to any man, then no one will place good value on you. When you expose your body, you are saying “there is nothing special about me, I am just like every other girl on the street”. But when you dress decently, you will be respected by anyone that meets you and they will know that you are different and special.

Sagging your trousers tells people that you are irresponsible; wearing countless number of chains on your neck makes you look no less than a dog; wearing tight cloths makes you look like you are advertising your body for profit. Note that you are God’s temple, not the devil’s tool. Dress up!

Key Point: The way you dress shows the value you place on yourself.

Hymn 4
I. God give us Christian homes!
Homes Where the Bible is loved and taught,
Homes where the Master’s will is sought,
Homes crowned with beauty Your love has wrought;
God give us Christian homes;
God give us Christian homes!

2. God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the father is true and strong,
Homes that are free from the blight of wrong,
Homes that are joyous with love and song;
God give us Christian homes;
God give us Christian homes!

3. God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the mother, in caring quest,
Strives to show others Your way is best,
Homes where the Lord is an honoured guest;
God give us Christian homes;
God give us Christian homes!

4. God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the Children are led to know,
Christ in His beauty who loves them so,
Homes where the altar fires burn and glow;
God give us Christian homes;
God give us Christian homes!
