Memorise: “This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.” – Acts 4:11

Read: 1 Samuel 16:11-13

11 And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.

12 And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.

13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

Bible In One Year: Psalm 132-135, 1 Corinthians 8

MESSAGE:

In the Bible, we see how Esther came from nothing to becoming a queen. We also see how David come from nothing and become the king of Israel. That is the meaning of Sudden Transformation. When a student who wasn’t so bright comes up to start leading the class, it will feel strange, but that is sudden transformation. I pray for you, whatever good thing people have said you couldn’t succeed at, the Lord will surprise them with your success in that thing in Jesus’ name.

One thing that is common in all the stories of sudden transformation in the bible is that they were all lovers of God. They craved for the things of God first before the transformation. They were so neck deep in their love for God that they did not neglect Him even after their transformation came. It is this kind of people that God raises from obscurity to the lime light; people that are completely sold out to Him. If you truly want a sudden transformation in any area of your life, increase your love for Jesus.

Prayer Point:

Father, help me to love you than King David loved you in Jesus’ name.

Hymn 2:

1 When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for theres no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2 Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3 Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4 But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5 Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
