Topic: How Can This Be? [TREM Devotional Monday June 4, 2018]

“Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?” Isaiah 53:1

The reason why it seems as if God’s Word is not productive in the lives of believers is because we try to rationalize it with our senses. We try to understand it with our human mind; we want it to appeal to our logic, forgetting that God does not operate at the same level with us. Isaiah 55:8-9 tells us that His ways are higher, and His thoughts are higher; and so you cannot reason it out, your assignment is to believe it.

Child of God, in order to experience the promises of God, you must stop using head knowledge, believe what God has said concerning you, because God’s Word rules over circumstances and situations; it is superior! The prophet Isaiah made it clear in our text that the arm of the Lord is revealed to those who believe. You want to see God at work, then believe Him.

2 Kings 6, tells us that there was severe famine in the land of Samaria, in fact the famine was so severe that people were eating up themselves; humanly speaking there was no way out of this siege. Here comes Prophet Elisha in chapter 7, with a word from the Lord, that there was going to be abundance; and this prophecy wasn’t given with a timeline of two or three years, but for the very next day. It seemed impossible, because even if they had to plant crops the same day the prophecy was given, and there was a heavy downpour all night, the crops wouldn’t have sprouted, let alone be ready for harvest. This human/agricultural impossibility caused an officer in the King’s palace to exclaim “Could this thing be?” But because the Word of God had gone forth, it came to pass.

The Word of God will always prosper, you can stake your life on it. Hold on to that Word, and it will manifest.
