A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: He is Enough for Me

Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. John 14:8. Read: Matt 6:33

In those days when we were growing up, we heard the older Christians sing: I have Jesus in my heart I am satisfied, even though I have nothing I am satisfied. They took Jesus to be all in all in their lives. They had need of nothing because they had Jesus who owns everything and is able to give them all things they ever needed in life. They were bubbling in the Lord and their lives filled with joy unspeakable, full of hope and glory.

But today, the song has changed. The modern Christians believe that when you claim to have Jesus and you are not wealthy, Jesus is not worth following. Jesus is only worth serving when the road is smooth, but when rough, complaints becomes the order of the day. Many Christians are fairweather friends with Jesus, they serve God for what they want and try to use God to meet their needs, if those needs are not met on time, they give Jesus quit notice and seek alternatives.

If you are serving God just because of what you will gain (not because you love Him), you will be disappointed by God. God blessed Solomon and made him the greatest king because he had the heart of service unto God through serving His people. Solomon would have asked for wealth, fame, power and long life, but he chose to serve because he knew that is where the blessings of the Lord is. Jesus is sufficient for me, I don’t know about you.

* Jesus is all you need to have all your needs met.
