John 5:30 – “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”
Hearing from God is foundational to our living in rest. We said in this discussion that this life was designed to be a walk with God in a state of rest and that the principle of rest was incorporated into the creation story. God worked for six days and rested on the seventh and since then He has designed for us to live in His rest. Living in His rest living in alignment with the foundation that He laid. In John 5:19 we see that Jesus was yoked with God the Father. He never did anything outside what God the Father told Him to do. Every time Jesus took a step in alignment with God, a miracle happens and that’s how God designed for us to live our lives.

4. To hear from God, read and meditate on the scriptures. They will help you to acquire God’s vocabulary. 2nd Tim. 3:16-17 The scriptures teach us what God will say and what God will not say. It teaches us what is right and what is wrong. So you train your system to receive from God by reading and meditating in the scriptures. You’d then find out that a lot of the times God wants to speak to you, it’s a portion of the scriptures that He uses to speak to you. You will feel differently about it as God is speaking to you directly. The more you want to be able to understand God, the more you should fill yourself with God’s vocabulary. Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:1-2 Fill your mind and imagination with the scriptures.
5. To hear from God, watch out for spontaneous thoughts, pictures or texts. God is a spirit and can speak through His thoughts and ideas. Luke 24:27-32. Revelation usually comes with a sensation. One of the way you know it’s God is that it’s not along your logical frame of thoughts, it’s different. Your system picks the impact when what is coming is coming from God.
6. God speaks through His prophets. Amos 3:7. He speaks through His prophets and gives them extraordinary gifts for intuition. Ephesians 4:11. In the new testament, every Christian can prophesy. So don’t open yourself to confusion. What someone says should be a confirmation.
7. Put your receiver on the right frequency. Job 32:8. Inspiration is the key to revelation. Ephesians 5:18. Music is important, reading is important. 2 Kings 3. Put your equipment in the right frequency. Hebrews 11:6. If you put yourself in the frequency of negativity, you’re not going to hear anything.
