TOPIC: What Will You Be Remembered For? (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Saturday, 26 May 2018)
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Acts 9:36-40
MEMORY VERSE:
“A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.” – Proverbs 13:22
The MESSAGE:
The best thing any man can leave behind is an example of a life well lived. A life well lived is a life lived in absolute submission to the will of God. What will you be remembered for? The Bible says that Dorcas was full of good works. David is remembered for confronting and killing Goliath. He is also remembered for being Israel’s greatest king, a prophet and a musician (psalmist). He is remembered for being a man after God’s heart. Solomon is remembered for building the temple and for his unusual wisdom. Nehemiah is remembered for rebuilding the broken walls of Jerusalem, despite his lowly earthly position as a servant to the king. Elijah is remembered for confronting Ahab and Jezebel, for overcoming the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel and turning the hearts of Israel back to God after years of Baal worship, apostasy and idolatry. Peter is remembered for his sermon on the day of Pentecost and the souls he won for God that day and afterwards. Paul is remembered for writing two third of the New Testament, his missionary works and for labouring exceedingly to build the church.
Beloved, when the history of your family, community, workplace, church, neighbourhood, city and nation are written, what will you be remembered for? An individual’s lagacy can be good or evil. Make a decision to leave a good legacy. Ensure you are remembered for something good and worthwhile. Pharoah, the king of Egypt, who was stiff-necked, perished with his hosts in the Red Sea. Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus; Saul, the first king of Israel, failed and left bad memories. Some parents would not name their children Saul or Judas because of the bad records of those personalities. Your choices and actions today will have great influence on your tomorrow as well as your unborn generations.
Whatever you have to do, pause and think of how it will affect your today and tomorrow. Will it make you to be remembered for good or for bad? As a believer who has been washed by the blood of the Lamb, clothed in Christ’s righteousness and indwelt by His Spirit, you have the grace and power to achieve even more than David, Elijah, Peter and Paul did. You can inscribe your name and that of your family on the world map of global achievement. You can make your name and those of your children and great grandchildren to be in good reckoning in heaven. All you need to do is to accomplish great works for God, whilst obeying Him completely, and leave a worthwhile lagacy. You will be remembered for good.

All good men and women must take responsibility to create legacies that will take the next generation to a level we could only imagine.

The seed of greatness in you and your family, shall sprout and bear fruits.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
1. Father, help me live a purpose-driven life, in the name of Jesus.
2. O Lord, help me to make the right choices and decisions, in the name of Jesus.
3. I receive the wisdom to run the affairs of my life in line with God’s will, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. My life shall be a great sacrifice and blessing to this and coming generations, in the name of Jesus.
5. O Lord, make me a kingdom builder with unforgettable lagacies like David’s, Elijah’s, Peter’s and Paul’s, in the name of Jesus.
6. My family and I will not be bad reference points, in the name of Jesus.
7. O Lord, here I am, send me and use me for Your glory, in the name of Jesus.
