Topic: The Perfect Offering [25/3/2016]
Text: Isaiah 53:4-12
The wages (payment, substitute, exchange) for sin is death. A death must take place for sin to be atoned for. The first man, Adam was a god-man, that is, He was god and also a man. But when he sinned, he was de-robed of his god-likeness and made an ordinary man. Subsequently, all the seeds that came after him were mere men, devoid of the god nature.
Unfortunately, a mere mortal man cannot atone for the sin of an immortal man, a godlike man. It has to take the a god-man to do that. So God, had to come in form of a man, to pay for the sin of the god-like man and restore him to the status of a god-man. So scripture says in John 10: 34, “…ye are gods…”
It could only have been Jesus, and no one else, to be the sacrifice for sin. For as God in human form, He was the perfect offering for sin, so through our belief in Him and trusting in His offering which He poured out, we are restored to our original status, robed in the god-likeness, being made partakers of His divine (God, supernatural, immortal) nature. Glory to God in the highest.

Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for being the perfect offering for sin and for restoring us to the god-man that we are. We celebrate Your offering today and forever because we are grateful, in Jesus name. Amen.
