Wisdom: The Winning Key (Part 4)

Dear Reader,

Welcome and thank God for bringing us to another day to learn from His Word on this platform. Last week, you were taught on how to communicate in wisdom. This week, we will be looking at Wisdom in Prayer.

I make bold to say that there is wisdom in prayer. Instead of arguing or fighting over issues, take your challenge to God in prayer; it works! The Bible says in Philippians 4:6: Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. With prayer, you can present your request before God.

Power is released when you pray. One of the things it does is to force your enemies to turn back from pursuing you. God’s Word says: When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me (Psalm 56:9).

Prayer pushes off all your enemies and establishes you in marital bliss. Prayer changes things. Don’t start blaming your spouse or in-laws, employ the wisdom in prayer. When you see things going wrong in your home negatively, it is not the time to fold your hands and say, “God will do it”. If you fold your hands and do nothing, then the situation will remain the same.

God said in 2 Chronicles 7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. That your home, where quarrelling is the order of the day, needs healing! All those ailing areas of your marital life need healing! God says if you will humble yourself and pray, He will heal your land (2 Chronicles 7:14). That means, He will heal your marriage, home, children and everything that concerns your marital life.

Even if your husband is an unbeliever, you need to pray for him and be committed to him and the success of the home. If not, you’ll be rebellious. Help to make up for his weak areas. Don’t neglect or abuse him. The one you pray for (and with) you will find it difficult to fight! If he comes home drunk, for instance, meet him, fall on his neck, begin to cry and say, “Darling, I miss you. Please stay at home with me and the children; we all need you….” I tell you, in his state of drunkenness, the Spirit of God will begin to arrest his mind and you will begin to see positive changes in him. Never under-estimate the power of prayer.

Look at this sister’s testimony:
“My husband did not attend any programme throughout the Breakthrough Seminar. I did not know what was wrong, but I put it in prayers. When the Bishop asked us to write a list of what we didn’t want again, I said, ‘My husband must come back and give his life fully to Christ.’ He used to attend services before, but all of a sudden, he stopped participating in the prayer we hold at home.
I knew I am more than a conqueror. I said, ‘You this devil, you must get out of this home, there is no room for you here’. I believed God to grant all my desire. The following day, my husband came to church, it was a Sunday. Since then, he’s the one that wakes us all up for prayers!

I see God giving you your own testimony!
Pray for your children, lift their weaknesses before the Lord and seek His help concerning every area of their lives. God does nothing except in response to prayer. Gather divine strength in prayer to keep the family in shape.

The power to engage praying with wisdom, is the privilege of those that are born again. You become born again by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. If you are not born again, your prayers cannot generate power; neither will God hear you. If you are ready to take this decision, please say this prayer with me:

“Dear Lord Jesus, I come to you today. I believe you died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me your child and plant your rest into my life. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”

If you prayed the above simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
Congratulations! You are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary. All-round rest and peace is guaranteed you in Jesus’ Name!
